From One Generation to the Next
Our Reception of the Gospel
The gospel has reached us because generations of Christians before us faithfully passed it on. They testified to Jesus, helped believers grow, and equipped others to continue the work from one generation to the next.
The Pattern of the New Testament
In the New Testament, making disciples led believers to start, strengthen, and multiply churches. As the apostles and those they equipped proclaimed the gospel, people believed, were baptized, gathered into churches, and grew through the Word, prayer, shared life, and mutual edification. They also developed leaders to strengthen churches and help start new ones.
Our Participation in the Mission
The Gathering Network equips ordinary believers and leaders to participate in that same mission today. We pursue Jesus’s mission of making disciples of all nations so that the vision of starting, strengthening, and multiplying churches becomes a growing reality.
What is The Gathering Network?
We are a community of Christians working together to make disciples of all nations.
Our Vision
Our vision is to start, strengthen, and multiply churches in homes, across cities, throughout regions, and ultimately among all nations. We see this pattern throughout the first century as the apostles and those they equipped carried out Jesus’s mission.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make disciples of all nations. The risen Jesus sends us to go, proclaim the good news of his death and resurrection, call people to repentance and faith, baptize new believers, and teach them to obey everything he commanded.
Our Strategy
We pursue this mission and vision through what we call The Apostolic Cycle: reaching non-Christians, strengthening Christians in community, and developing leaders. As these priorities continue, people come to faith, believers mature, leaders develop, and churches are started, strengthened, and multiplied.
Our Approach
We help ordinary believers put this mission into practice through a simple, repeatable pathway of disciple-making. At the center, we seek to love God and love others through the Word, prayer, and obedience. We continue identifying our natural networks of relationships and praying for ourselves and others as we move through five interconnected movements: Serve, Seek, Invite, Gather, and Equip.
Our Invitation
The Gathering Network helps ordinary believers and leaders take their next step in this work. Whether you are learning to share the gospel, strengthening believers, developing as a leader, or helping start and strengthen churches, we invite you to learn, practice, and grow with us.
